The Online Advisor is a free, confidential service available to Western Australian small businesses that provides assistance and guidance about how to improve your small business.

Women in Business
The participation of women in small business has grown in number as well as importance over the last decade and their contribution to the Australian economy is well recognised.

The SBDC assists micro and small businesses with starting, managing and building their business in Western Australia. Business guidance is free and confidential, and there are business publications and workshops available.

Grants for Small Business
Government assistance for small business can take many forms, most commonly by way of free or low cost advisory services, information and guidance.

Assistance is rarely by way of cash grants or loans to enable new businesses to start, or to help existing businesses overcome a shortage of funds. Usually this kind of funding has to be obtained via banks and other conventional lending institutions or through private means or investors. The Small Business Development Corporation can assist you to identify ways to finance your business and to better understand how to present a case for finance.

There are a range of State and Federal financial assistance initiatives available for various small business related activities, and access is usually subject to meeting specific eligibility criteria.

ATO Information and Education Sessions

Free presentations on tax issues are available through the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for groups of 10 or more small business operators. The presentation sessions can be tailored to address tax-related issues of specific interest to your industry, providing maximum benefit to your members.
