A professional development program for Western Australia’s entrepreneurs

 

The Metro Business Enterprise Centre presents a professional development program for Western Australian entrepreneurs and small business owners developed by CEMI and the UWA Graduate School of Management.

This program will considerably enhance your business skills and business performance, as has been evidenced by all program participants in program one, just completed.

Key objectives:

  • Enhanced Managerial Skills for Small Business Owners
  • Enhanced Profitability and Productivity for Small Business
  • Improved Networking Leading to Enhanced Innovation
  • Improved Growth in Small Firms

The program is a flexible package of

  • Individualised diagnostic assessments
  • Business coaching and mentoring
  • Online education
  • Structured workshops and business seminar networking events.

The program runs for 5 months and commences in July 06.

There will be just 40 positions available in our first intake to ensure each participant receives the full attention and support of a qualified and highly experienced business mentor throughout the program.

Program Delivery Schedule

  1. Information Night
  2. Complete Business Diagnostic
  3. Starting workshop 1 day
    • Review of intial Business Diagnostic Results
    • Introduction of Mentors
  4. Online learning support to access course material and to work at your own pace.
  5. Mentoring over the 5 months includes:
    • Business site visit
    • Peer group meetings
    • Individual sessions
    • Focus on critical issues
    • Completion of Action Learning Tasks
    • Practical application into the business
    • Time commitment with Mentors is 4 hours per month
  6. Halfway workshop 1 day
  7. Close out workshop 1 day
    • incl. second Diagnostic Review
    • close out of mentoring
